Grace Hopper was born in 1906
and died in 1992. Hopper was
the first person to communicate
with computers using words and
invented the compiler. She also
had a ship named after her.
Hopper earned a PhD at Yale,
and taught at Harvard.

Guido Van Rossum was born in the
Netherlands in 1956. He is famous
for inventing Python, a very
common coding language. Guido Van
Rossum went to the University of
Amsterdam, and currently works for Microsoft.

His main contribution was inventing the
Turing Machine, a machine
that could do computations.
Some minor contributions are him
decoding the encription of German
Enigma machines during World War
II. He took the first
steps towards artificial
intelligence. He made the "Turing
Test" which was if AI could fool
a human into thinking that
it was a human being.
